Dyband Corporation delivers new software version 2.2
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA (April 13, 2004)-Dyband,
a supplier of IP traffic management solutions to government,
enterprises and service providers worldwide, today announced
the availability of its newest version of its intelligent
IP traffic management solution. Version 2.2 of the Dyband
IP Traffic Management software adds important functionality
that further simplifies management, increases usability and
adds increased visibility into the Shaper software. Version
2.2 also provides greater choice of modern OS platforms and
processor support.
DYBAND MAKES YOUR NET WORK
Dyband's IP Traffic Management solution makes your net work
for you, providing unique value to your business in three
ways:
- Control costs by managing precisely who gets how much bandwidth
and when, enabling you to add 30% more users to your network
connection without adding additional bandwidth, while improving
your overall quality of service,
- Gain visibility in real
time into your network performance, from a high level right
down to the individual user, as well as historical statistical
information that you can use for analysis, capacity planning
and connecting to billing systems,
- Increase revenues for
service providers by adding more customers to your internet
backbone than without Dyband, and for governments and enterprise
by ensuring the smooth and predictable flow of information
over your network, enabling your users to focus on your core
business.
THE DYBAND SOLUTION
Dyband's IP Traffic Management solution enables its customers
to control bandwidth consumption, by IP address, for up to
50,000 managed points-individual subscribers, groups, subnets,
and/or gateways. Multiple allocation schemes (guaranteed,
preferred, equitable, etc.) distribute available bandwidth
across all managed points during both normal and congested
conditions. By evaluating the bandwidth capacity/demand ratio
100 times per second, Dyband can dynamically shape individual
and aggregate bandwidth usage based on traffic conditions,
minimizing network congestion, reducing packet loss, and optimizing
Internet backbone utilization. The software also allows access
providers to define and manage a virtually unlimited number
of SLAs at distinct price points. And, it enables new visibility
into bandwidth consumption, allowing operators to make real-time
usage decisions, and gather comprehensive historical statistics
for later analysis.
NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 2.2
"We have added some important customer-requested features
in this release that will improve our already easy management
interface and Shaper functionality" said Walter Capitani,
head of Software Engineering at Dyband. "Our new autodiscovery
feature, Shaper event logging and other key features add to
the overall usability of Dyband within a variety of access
networks."
Dyband is also announcing support of the newest Microsoft
Windows operating systems, Windows XP Professional and Windows
Server 2003, as well as a new automated licensing system that
will speed the delivery of the product to customers.
"I am particularly pleased to announce the launch of the Dyband
Knowledge Base", continued Mr. Capitani, "which will provide
all of our customers and prospects useful information on policy
and profile configuration, shaper operation, and maintenance.
The Dyband KB is a powerful resource available 24/7 for our
customers to ensure they have the most recent information
on the use and management of the Dyband software."
